He Walks Among Us

This little gem recently won an ECPA Medallion of Excellence retail award, an award given for high quality Christian writing and deservedly so.

He Walks Among Us is a profound volume of devotional material relating encounters the authors had with adults and children all over the world and the lessons learned through that experience.  Richard and Renee Stearns have traveled the world with World Vision, visiting the most poverty stricken areas imaginable and they have discovered an amazing and common occurrence among those who live there.  Joy can be found no matter what your circumstances are, no matter how dire.

It is a 90 day devotional giving readers an up-close and personal view of Christ in the lives of mothers, fathers and children who have so little, yet are so rich in Christ’s spirit and love.  Christians who are committed to missionary outreach will encounter the transforming power and courage needed to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Some of the devotional titles include: The Fragrance of Christ (Brazil), Yielding to the Potter’s Hands (Haiti), A Drop in the Bucket (Myanmar), Are You Comfortable? (United States), Learning From Scrooge (Philippines), and Provoking the Question (India).

Another interesting aspect of this is what the Stearns did before working for World Vision.  Richard Stearns is a former CEO of Parker Bros Games and Lenox and Renee Stearns is a former attorney.  They have five children of their own in addition to the amazing stories they tell of extended family in this gem.

This book features some of the amazing work of Jon Warren with World Vision, an award winning photographer whose photos can stir your soul.

It is inspiring and motivating.  You will come to know Christ and become more of what God has created you to be.
