I already loved Sally LLoyd Jones because of the Jesus Storybook Bible. Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing is a great companion to that Bible.
It uses a conversational tone that pairs perfectly with the illustrations to look at profound spiritual truths—drawing insights from creation, history, science, the writings of great thinkers and preachers and writers, and more—to turn the reader’s eyes toward God, the God who loves them with a Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love.
Some people have been critical about content. While I think most of it is really good, parents should know about it. There is a WWII prisoner of war where one steps forward to take the blame for something that he didn't do. The guards end up killing him. Also, there is the image of a woman with dark brown skin standing up being auctioned off as a slave. These are snippets of a very well done piece of children's literature.
How am I using this? I am starting to use this for family devotions and my heart was singing as I read it to my children! Do yourself a favor and make sure you have it.
