I'm including all kinds of books in this post that have blessed me and my family in some way. I hope you and yours are inspired to enjoy to gift of reading!
If you have never read this, you really should. Or watch one of the many movie versions. My personal favorite is the Muppet Christmas Carol. Read how Ebenezer Scrooge transforms from a mean old miser to a man who understands the gift of life at the end.
I read this one earlier in the month. This is a wonderful combination of the story of Christ's birth and A Christmas Carol. Well worth the read. The bonus is its not very long.
This is a lovely Christmas read aloud with kids. The rhyming lines will be enjoyed along with the Christmas nature scenes, animals, and, of course, Santa and the sleigh make an appearance.
This is my favorite Christmas book for little ears and minds. The animals and rhymes are a perfect combination. Make some animal noises along the way.
This is another one that should be an annual revisit. It's a classic for a reason.
This one is new this year. It's an advent book about a group of characters, including children, animals, angels, and a few other surprise people traveling back in time to Bethlehem. It's a pilgrimage of sorts for young minds. I would recommend this for children 8-12. The woman who wrote this wrote Sophie's World, another classic of sorts.
This is a lovely children's book that can be enjoyed by adults. The three trees have dreams of what they will do and be when they grow up. Interestingly, the dreams come true in unexpected ways. This indirectly tackles transformation and discipleship in a beautiful story.
