I didn’t get around to re-organizing the kid’s play area. Actually, it was Justin who started organizing and cleaning toys on Monday. And then fell asleep from the exhaustion of all that effort. :)
I didn't plan out activities for my 3 and 5 year old boys for the rest of the week.
I meant to pick up the wild collection of plastic weapons that decorate our home. These things can make you lose your sanity. But I started to look at the colours. . blues, oranges, yellows and reds.
I was not able to find the missing socks. Where do those mismatched socks go?
There was a lot of 'I didn't' and 'I meant to' this week.
But God is good when you put aside the obvious housework and to do lists and just 'be'.
I did meet friends.
I did talk about motherhood.
I did talk about teaching.
I did talk about finding your way in the midst of chaos.
I did share my mess, my thoughts, my home with Christine.
It was glorious.
And I did dance with the kids.
It was a feast.
It was loud.
We swam together. We played.
We talked, shared and we prayed.
And we danced.
This week I remembered that I’m more than the house cleaner.
I’m a joy bringer.
I’m a dance partner.
I’m a drum aficionado.
I’m a candy lover.
I’m an artist-in-residence.
I’m a renaissance mom if I want to be to the three humans I’m raising.
And by gosh, some nights that means there won’t be clean dishes.
…but there will be dancing.
Thank you Jesus, Christine, Colleen,Arnelle, Heidi Song, and Heidi Nam for the reminder to bring joy in...
