The biggest revelation for all this time in the house over this break is that parenting can just be so hard!  I have lectured, cajoled, and expressed in countless ways that fighting and arguing are not good ways to solve problems. Still, the yelling and screaming persists.  Particularly right before bed when everyone is cranky and are completely unaware of how tired they are! But occasionally there are rare moments of cooperation and care between brothers including the following:

Jordan: "Can I go and get the stuffed animals tonight?"
Aidan: "Yes, that's a good idea! Can I have the angel tonight?"
Jordan: "Yes. It's okay! ... Can I have the turtle?"
Aidan: "Yes. It's okay!"

And the ending to this chapter came in the morning when they were cuddling on the bed together, with a huge number of stuffed animals around them and neither one wanted to get up!  Sometimes brothers can get along...

Another rare moment is the third picture above.  Justin and Aidan were QUIETLY doing their handwriting and getting along.  Miracles do happen! Praise God!

There is always a Jordan story and this time around it involves a very cute British animation series entitled Peppa Pig.  Well, Jordan is obsessed!  I think the child has watched every episode on YouTube four times.  And there are many, many episodes.  Sometimes he insists on all of us calling him George Pig, the little brother on the show.  One interaction went like this:

Jordan: "Mommy pig, how old are you?"
Mommy: "Older than you!"
Jordan: "Daddy pig, how old are you?"
Daddy: "Older than you! How old are you George Pig?"
Jordan: (He was just waiting for someone to ask!)  "I'm seven!"

In other news, training is going on to get the boys to clean on Saturday morning.  As expected, Aidan was on task! He cleaned the back bathroom beautifully, wiped everything down, and even threw water all over the floor (Korean style if you're wondering).  The other two I need to constantly check on.  Justin is in charge of the front bathroom, and dusting and sweeping his room, and Jordan is in charge of dusting and organizing the shoes at the front door.  What should take an hour if it was done by adults takes about an hour and half!  I keep telling myself that it's good for them to have Saturday morning responsibilities!

Train up a child in the way he should go: even when he is old he will not depart from it.  Proverbs 21:6
