My superheroes were ecstatic with taking out the costume bag at the end of October. Out came the dragon, the turtle, Spider-man, and Iron-man. I love watching the changes in their faces when they get to do something fun! Jordan picked Iron-man which he decided was Optimus Prime from the Transformers movie series, and Aidan was Spiderman. Spiderman is quite wiry and Aidan played this up well with subtle Taekwondo moves for the rest of the afternoon.
Around 3:50, I bundled them up and took them trick-or-treating at Cantina in Cheonan. We had a little stopover at Costco which made us a little late for the trick-or-treating event. The boys actually enjoyed running over the bridge and trying to figure out where the group was so we could catch up!
Cantina is Mexican restaurant in Cheonan which serves very good food and is managed by great people. This is the third year the owners have organized this trick-or-treating event for foreigners who are living in Korea that have children. The trick-or-treating lasted about 30 minutes and the boys were ecstatic with the amount of candy they got. I was not ecstatic about the amount of candy they ate instead of their suppers on Halloween.
The other highlight from this was being able to see Rolanda Yvette Lee and her family. We were not quite able to connect the weekend before, so I was thrilled that we were able to spend a little bit of time together.
My superheroes continue to inspire me. They dressed up in their costumes again for Fall Fest at church this past Sunday. Jordan had worked on a number of moves for Optimus Prime for which he received a prize! Aidan was a subtle spidy again!
There were a number of great costumes from other little people, including Abby Lee, Janey and Gia Kim, Daniel, and Ian. I was also impressed with Pastor Matt as Luke Skywalker, Lorriann Ibeh as the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz, and Tracy Bagley as sadness.
There is true joy in fellowship together!

Aidan deserves a special shout-out for his Taekwondo performance at school last Friday. He and his friend did an awesome job with their Taekwondo routines!

Our reading quest continues in this house! Jordan continues to earn his caterpillar extensions through reading three books every evening. Aidan also is enjoying it, but hasn't read quite as much as Jordan. I suppose when he realizes that his little brother is way ahead of him, he will be very motivated to catch up!
I continue to look for cheap resources online for this, but I want to mention the Epic app through apple! There are all kinds of pictures books, teaching books, general stories, biographies, and other great things on this app. It costs us $3.99 a month and I couldn't be more pleased.
Now, could someone please tell me, how did you move from picture books to chapter books? I would like to try this with Aidan soon and I would love to connect with other mothers who have done it already!
